DisruptHR YVR – A Note of Thanks

DisruptHR YVR – A Note of Thanks

To everyone that came to DisruptHR YVR last week,

Woah. And we mean, woah.

We’re still living off the high from being in a crowd of over 400 of Vancouver’s execs and business leaders in HR (and from Warren Springer’s energetic opener!). This was the second DisruptHR YVR that the Corker Co hosted and the event wouldn’t have been what it was without a few special peeps.

If you are…

A DisruptHR speaker

It’s not easy to speak for five minutes with only 15 seconds per slide (especially in front of a crowd of hundreds) and we applaud each and every one of you for your courage and disruptive talks. We had a great lineup with Ashley Vella from Amazon, Ben Rutledge from Invis, Cory Sterling from Conscious Counsel Legal Services, Derrick Emsley from Tentree, Hiroko Demichelis from Moment Meditation, Career Coach Holly Burton, Jasper Johnston from Harvard University, Jess Robson a freelance writer, Mark Bout from Mathews, Dinsdale & Clark LLP, and Stephanie Sang from Granted Consulting.

A DisruptHR partner and sponsor

Who doesn’t love good food, good drinks, and good company?

A huge thank you to CPHR BC & Yukon, Thoughtexchange, Rise, The Lazy Gourmet, Coast Protein, and KIND Snacks for all of the support in putting on this event.

Thank you to Moment Meditation for showing up with a pop-up studio and to Bailey Nelson and LearnKit for the rad giveaways.

We couldn’t have put this event together without the community it takes to bring people together, so thank you.

A DisruptHR attendee

We’re still trying to wrap our heads around having over 400 attendees and we want to acknowledge every person who came out. The night wouldn’t have been complete without all of you, so thank you for showing up and for wanting to a part of the disruptive conversation.

We love hearing your feedback, so please send Matt a note to keep the conversation alive. Too much HR talk? Not enough? Want to see a specific topic or person on the stage? Let us know!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who made DisruptHR YVR possible. We host DisruptHR because we’re passionate about building leaders in the community and making a difference to inspire positive change. That’s also why we created the Manager Start Line – so check it out if you’re looking to take your people management skills to the next level.

We can’t wait for the next DisruptHR YVR, and if you can’t either, hop on our mailing list to get more details once the planning starts.

And if you want to volunteer or speak at the next DisruptHR YVR, reach out to our Team Manager Lawrence for more details.

Always grateful,
The Corker Co Team
