It was a dark and gloomy winter evening and I had RSVP’d for a local “networking” event in the new small town I had recently moved to. I thought showing up would be the first great step to meeting interesting new folks, right?

You see, I started the year taking Bernie on his first flight. As I walked onto the plane, I saw a trolly pulling a pile of “priority” luggage across the tarmac. It was stacked high of hockey bags, lacrosse sticks, skis and… Bernie’s crate.

The job market has never been such a raging oxy-moron: equal parts wildly volatile and hugely possible! There are thousands of people being laid off from various tech organizations and still there remain many thousands of open roles looking for great talent to fill them.

Team Corker gathered in early September, cross-legged on the yoga studio floor asking questions of how to wrap this year of 2022 in a bow. What could we as a Collective say YES to? What would we like to no longer do? How do we celebrate each other, our clients, our community and our friends?

When people describe who I am, they will always share that I see what’s possible. This has enabled me to lead million-dollar retail stores, travel and live in the US, have kids immediately after a divorce, leave a secure job and find one that I’m over the moon about and live in my dream home.

If you’ve been following our Corkboards, you may recall a story of my backyard shed and the naughty raccoons. You see, I recently moved into a 1980s home that has all the charm and the disasters of a 40-something-year-old unit.

I have a tattoo on my arm in cursive writing that says “courage.” The purpose of this is significant, it’s a reminder that no matter how lost I may feel that having courage leads me to confidence.

We all experience beginnings and endings in our lives, from back-to-back Zoom meetings, life, and seasons to relationships, from development courses to careers. There is an important role the endings have.
