Create your future with two words.

“Instead of wondering when your next vacation is, maybe you should set up a life you don’t need to escape from.”― Seth Godin

I led a retreat for 30 cancer survivors this past month and was moved to the core. Their transformation unfolded before my eyes and I pulled out all of the tools I had to allow them to be fully expressed in a safe place. We all want to be seen, when people see into our souls, we feel trusted and open, we feel ready to create new declarations on how we want to live and make new commitments that we actually uphold.

There are moments in our lives that we don’t even know we need to go back and process. We move past trauma, pain, challenge so quickly to “just get over it” instead of acknowledging it and sharing what we needed in those moments. This can be a very raw experience and held in the right way, it becomes transformative.

To create a new future for ourselves, I use the statement “I am”. These two words create our whole world. Sometimes we create default “I am” statements which sound like I am not smart enough, I am not good enough, I am not worthy of happiness. You get it. Focusing on clearing where we are stuck, the stories that run in our minds to then created new I am statements allow us to step powerfully into the future we want to create.

Here is an example of one of my I am statements. I am the gentle force that places people on the path they intended to walk.

Now I pass this along to you, there are moments in your life that you may have overlooked as they are challenging or you’re not sure how to overcome them. We all have those, and if you feel confident to clear these moments on your own, you go. If you know that you need to move through these moments, seek out support from a professional. The only way to transform your life is to move through the muck. Get uncomfortable. Let the tears stroll down your face as you process. Remember this: You are Whole, perfect and complete, no fixing required.

May you create new I AM statements that allow you to step powerfully into the future you want to create.
